necro its a pretty good MU and its all about what you consider "legal". I'm never going to lose to one in a normal duel, but if they start spamming bone prison they can win, and if I start spamming slow missiles they can't, and so on
teleport completely changes that from a normal plague/bow- I just pelt them with furies and if their golem is down I can always chainlock cs a few times to put pressure on em, and they'll stumble into a plague before long

but assassins are a mixed bag. Most are ezpk of course, but thats just skill level disparity. But at the top level, best player vs best player (and the other dude using a bunch of 100% perfect lewt gear, mind), the real problem came down to mind blast.
basically a good trapper or ghost with 20 points mb and 102-174% fcr can simply avoid plague javelins, and then hold down mind blast on you. And theres nothing you can dooooooooo. The shadow master + mb damage alone will eat you and theres no way to fight back
ie you can wsg up close to them, taking heavy damage from shadow due to wsg, and then he'll just teleport away, and be defensive and lock again. Or you can wsg away, try to trap him to chainlock into a plague cloud, but if hes got any brain cells he'll just tele around and give up the namelock
and then he starts doing it once again. Theres no way to beat that on a zon (or frankly anything but a paladin or barbarian or assassin, if you do it right, which is where my mb/sm sin idea was borne anyway)

so I've already preempted that by getting myself a nice healthy amulet of life everlasting. I'm looking for one with +2 zon or +poison resist, but i guess ill have to make do


regular old hybrids or trappers just being defensive or chainlocking you are ridiculously easy to kill however, so np there. Just walk/wsg around when they have a lock and lure them into a plague cloud, or pelt them with garrows when they're on the defense. np

I guess I'll have to see what's what when I make mine. I only need 1 more Java lifer and Java fhr gc and I'll be done. I made my own gear alterations and I'm looking for some advice:

Helm: 15/15'd Griffons
Armor: MP Nigma
Gloves: 2/20 Jav KB
Belt: Arach
Boots: Tri Res Dex/10 fhr
Ammy: Cat's Eye (considering switching to highlords)
Wep Switch 1: Matriarcal Faith
Wep Switch 2: E titans + Ber'd SS
Rings: Raven + 10 FCR

This build allows me to hit 55 IAS (enough for max speed with a Mat Fath and a 10 frame jav, max is 9), 48 FHR, and 48 FCR. I feel like I teleport more than fast enough, and I'm really solid with my attack speed.

yeah theres variant setups that work for sure, whatever you prefer. IE the question of 8 fpa vs 75% fcr- you can only have one or the other, and I do strongly recommend the latter since your bow doesn't do much of the work in very many matchups, but it still works to switch to a 20% ammy
i'd recommend highlords yeah, not just for the damage but also because of the +35% resists; your resists are going to be extremely lackluster with a ber'd ss and non-resist gloves/ammy.

but otherwise its real good. I gave up on the idea of java fhr charms though, I feel its better just to ignore FHR entirely. After all, it is a zon with dodges, so FHR is pretty much never going to matter
the other way of hitting the java bps are using a 15/15 jewel in your SS, or getting rare 400% eth / rep javas with 40% ias / +4 skills. OFC, thats not exactly easy.

for those of you who are worried about ias on bow switch,
you can try swapping out griffons for a 20fcr 120/45 diadem.

technically, a 80/30 + cham helm or 30/30 + cham helm in a jewelers of the magus
because you'll need to sub a ravenfrost for a fcr ring to get CBF with that

but eh, I don't recommend it. I played around with that idea- it lets you hit 7 fpa and 75% fcr yes, but you lose +1 skills, -20% resists, and +15% damage.
i'd say its not even close. The huuuuge amounts of cs, fury, plague, and bolt and minor dodges cripple you far too much compared to what griffs offers.

I mean griffs is pretty much a house in terms of how much benefit it provides; it turns your lightning from suck to rock on its own



8 FPA is plenty fine. You're not a pure bowa and you use your bow the least of all your attacks, so why cripple everything else just to make it marginally faster (while also losing huge damage on it)
Sure it could work, but I wouldn't pass up the cs/fury aspect or hell even the -1 plague.

Prob a typo.y its 68 (zona have weird bps,and pretty low frames even with last fcr bp)
