I hear you, but non-meta builds only work in PvMmy friend.

“Fun” builds will make you lose versus anybody with any semblance of experience

Dragon claw - It’s actually decent damage and has insane ar. With the fhr changes you can still attack while being interrupted, sort of.

I’d recommend still having a chaos to WW out of sticky situations.

If you’re thinking tank barb, you may just end up being a BVA, which is kind of cookie cutter unto itself. Not sure if you had another idea.

I made several fun builds in d2lod which was extreamly powerfull, crushing any build.
Forexample tele3zon and hybrid telewolf.

I tried making a hybrid telewolf as economical as i could on d2r. On d2r it kinda sucked. They have totally destroyed rabies. It used to be uninterruptible, but not anymore. As well as unblockable, but it seems like its getting blocked now. But thats not even the worst part, the worst part is that Very often the poison damage dont even tic down enemies life, they are green, they got hit. But it just deals 0 damage.. D2r is a shit game compared to d2lod.
