So this ladder I've gone through a few sorc variations for fun (nova, melee) and now I'm currently running a hybrid of nova, holy shock, tsorm

I have dual dream, coh (possibly thinking Ormus now this second), Sorc/fcr Ammy, can run frosties or mages (currently mages for %mana regen), dual soj atm, arach, etreks,
I have tested out crescent moon, Eschutas, and hoto to see what does best and for me its between Eschuta and hoto

It's going to be hard for y'all to know what's best or know what I'm talking about I suppose as this is a weird/unique build

I like how I tele around to big packs or champions/uniques, and static a few times and holy shock does one or two pulses and they are all dead. If I want to kill a bit faster I nova once or twice and the whole screen is gone.
It's a really chill build

basically I'm wondering now that I'm stupid and didn't even consider a 6x faceted cs and I'm wondering if that is possibly the best weapon for me.

My merc runs infinity setup, I'm 95% es, and I can post a screenshot of my stats/dmg if y'all want to see more.

With how lightning skills work with lightning mastery, the best way to increase your damage is by negative enemy lightning resist.

Making crescent moon + spirit or self holding infinity the only good option for anything lightning on sorceress.

I'm running a "melee" maxblock Sorc atm very close to what you've got, I think?

This maxroll link is a bit of a base template with ONLY accessible uniques - only has 20FCR, so get ready to tweak it for your own needs.
The template is obviously far from "good", but it's a proof of concept.
The inventory is whatever; you can use plain res/life etc, or life skillers, etc.

You can easily swap a TON of stuff around to customize the build.

https://d2.maxroll.gg/d2planner/830106si

If you swap Twitchthroe for Vipermagi, you lose a fuckload of mana due to needing Dex, but you gain solid FHR.
You can remove Frostburns & use 20IAS gloves with str/dex/mana and resists to cover your needs.
You can use a Raven Frost & ditch the Cham in the Twitchthroe for a gg Resist jewel. Raven also has decent AR.
You can even use Trang Oul's Belt with FCR rings instead of SOJs if you have gfg resist/mana/stat rings, which can free up itemization in the charms.

It's a really fun & dynamic char to build imo.

You can even go full hipster trash and try to turn this into an "Immortal" build (10fcr safety rings, gg safety boots, gbane, gg safety amulet, String of Ears, the absorb on Crescent Moon)
The only advantage of the hipster trash Immortal build is the fact that you can stop itemizing for Resistances altogether.
However, good luck getting good DR/MDR/Block without Gerke's Sanctuary (trust me, 1x Dream Helm + Gerke's is NOT worth it).

If you want to use Nova as a side option, you ditch Enchant altogether.
That has the benefit of letting you swap into a caster role whenever you want.

One more thing: if you use a Call to Arms swap and you're a Melee sorc, use Battle Cry very liberally.
Even the lowest level Battle Cry cuts off the defense of ANY ENEMY by 50%. That's batshit insane.

There's a ton you can also mess with on the weapon side, and all of them can melee swing when needed:
- Passion weapon (or insane Rare Sword with Fool's mod and Zeal Charges)
- Crescent Moon PB for the -35% Lightning Res
- Kingslayer PB for the OW/CB vs. bosses, and you can use Vengeance
- Plague PB for the Cleansing AND the +2 skills (which is a ton of damage on its own, about equal to Crescent Moon's -resist for melee hits iirc)
- Spirit PB for the +2 Skills, the huge mana boost / FHR, and the very welcome FCR spike
- Beast for the old school Bearsorc meme (not great with ES, since Bear scales Life, but you can hybridize and make it work)
- Phoenix weapon for Redemption

Yeah.

I love this trash build.

I also love this build. went from nova to melee to hybrid basically, so I'm a caster with holy shock now. still tweaking some things but the build is very good and very fun so far.
super easy if I want to afk I don't have to go into town because my shock or merc will kill everything. can literally walk away with things on screen and come back minutes later chillin, every time.
defensive, offensive, good clear speed etc

at this point im about to compare it to a full blown nova sort wielding infinity and merc insight, (more survivable)
but this build is still super good and able to be afk or nonchalant
