uh, I guess it's just an archaic wwsin vs wwsin rule (prior to people getting involved with gvg more) to prevent people from putting on an andy's and thinking they are good with trading whirls.
physical damage smacks poison based builds anyways, but the thinking was duels are more clean when there isn't any +max res involved.

this was around prior to d2pk actually. I don't think anyone on d2pk really cared about +max res since everything was heavy physical damage and relying on venom damage is a joke at that point.

or was it 5v3 with a 100fg wind druid buffed by 4x chars vs wwsin buffed by 2x chars?

so random poison necro 1v3'd the pub team. nice.
cause druid can't do anything 1v1 vs wwsin, so it was necro making it possible, or the individual wwsin player was just extra bad, or both.

but really how you are describing it, it seems more like a pubfest than a clean duel that you can derive anything about druid vs wwsin from.

having 75% PLR on gear would make venom duration like 0.5 seconds - whirlwind hits faster than that, so it would only make a difference of 0.3 seconds of venom duration when you have hit the final time ( like ~50 dmg with max resists and 1.5k venom )

but.BUT! you got to hear my side of the story/argument:

they had a max leap/55 bo/shout baba with hurtful ww as well
a fb sorc with lvl 30ish enchant/infi mercs n mass bm which forced me to wear hspur
AND Blizzard-Sux, lvl 96ish sin, with Gchaos, mass level difference 43498458548548fg worth gear, etc

VS 100fg delirium pelt druid, 10-25ish lifers ele gcs,plain 11 res scs and 20 lifers, 19/15 torches,,16/14 annies,etc+a random poison necro who actually amped,then LR'd
bro they lost 3-0 to druid, but the nec died from the traps since he didnt have sorb

sin died 3x,barb died 1x, sorc died like 343434343 times. Also they be lvl 91-95 gg dueler vs lvl 84ish necs/86 druids

so what Im hearing is an underleveled poison necro beat up on the other team. sounds like typical pub rvr to me. nothing out of the ordinary.
