Merc makes far more raw(non-cb) damage than skellies - good to play to your strengths

Your main killer after the first corpse is the CE, not skellies or merc.
The merc's raw damage has much less to do with boss killing speed than cb procs (especially with the merc vs boss damage nerf).

true dat about boss - however in other situation - p8 areas like CS with many fire immunes, merc damage is extremely important

CE still does far more damage in total.

Great guide!

The only thing I dont agree with is 20 to amp. It has such a low mana cost and wide area of effect with gear it's easily spammed. I'd rather have 1 of each curse.

Decrep is perfect for boss killing, and lower resist is useful during baal runs since mass skeletons can cause the game to drop (there's usually a sorc or trapper or something dealing damage with the hdin, so you don't need to use amp).

Other than that, I agree with gear selections, especially the use of hoto and infinity over beast and A1 merc/pride.

- I don't see the point in having 20 amp with the +skills from gear. Even 10 is pushing it, when those can be points put into something else, like golem mastery, mages, or more curses.

- Lag may not be a concern for the guide, but from the player standpoint, it happens. Ignoring the lag caused by summons is like ignoring desynch in pvp. There doesn't need to be a 3,000 word paragraph discussion about it, however, it needs to be addressed. Even though your damage is much higher than hammerdins or sorcs by a long shot, in a full 8-player game baal run, your summons may not even be needed. Use amp / lower resist when appropriate. Not to mention, part of CE's damage is fire, thus lower resist still boosts your damage.

- Naw A1 merc. Some people swore by the faith merc (mostly because of IM in 1.12 and before of Chaos Sanc). Now, there's no doubt about A2 infinity merc is superior to all other merc builds.

More points in amp is amazing. Being able to curse monsters off-screen helps you kill them off-screen with CE and how can you not love it? :P
