it doesn't stack the merc, it stacks yourself

I've tested it in some pubber games, and even when my merc dies, the aurastack stays. Even if I switch his primary aura to conviction, the stack stays. Even if I switch to BO, the stack stays. Even if I remove both my dreams, the stack returns when I equip a dream again. I can only assume it goes away when you die. But this means that I can swap my merc's infinity out and equip it myself, and retain the stacked auras O_O. Unless I'm mistaken, though, its stacking the level 15 aura, not the level 30 aura, so its not quite as powerful.

People might have already put one up but i just got done pming a longish guide to someone, so here it is if anyone needs.

Mf Auradin:

Max these: Conviction, Resist Lightening, Resist Fire, Salvation.
Add one to zeal then rest into holy shield.

When making an auradin it's best to get uled because then you can max out the stats and have holy shield right away, if you do baal games max out conviction put one into holy shield then max the rest.

The gear is as follows:
Weapon-Hand of justice Runeword (Gives holy fire aura)
Armor-Dragon Runeword (Gives fire aura also good vs defence vs missle)
Shield-Dream (for lightening aura also GG resists if you have a 45 resist all 3 sock shield) Also gives mf :P
Helm-Dream ( Same as above)
Ammy-I prefer to use a cheap ammy (Saracen's Chance) because it adds resists attribute and iron maiden for the monsters fire and light immune. A maras or pally crafted ammy might be more of an interest to you if you dont mind the extra hrs/fg to get them, but note the skills wont add much damage seeing how the max damage for an auradin is 70,000.
Rings-Perfect nagels.
Gcs/Scs-Gheeds Gc and one Offencive gc (only one offencive if things aren't dieing right away) And mf scs (maybe some resist all scs)
Boots- War Travs or Waterwalks, If your having trouble in chaos sanctuary with those blasted mages living for the 2.3 seconds before they die, if not use perfect or near perfect war travs for resist.

I use a self-stacking method which i will now go into detail about:
If you want to mf alone this is basically key to be able to do it flawlessly. You can choose any merc you want as long as they can use a dragon armor and a dream helm.
Once you get those items for your merc (and weapons or whatever else you want. Sword+ shield for act 3 merc, bow for act 1) then you will need to simply take off the merc's helm and put it where your helm is making it so you take your helm off, now with your helm off put it on the merc and then take it off and put it on you agian, do this 50 times. Then do it with the armor. Each "Switch" of armor will make your auras do 1k damage more.

The reason why your auras stack is because you have 2 fire auras and 2 lightening damaging auras on, then you add one more on top and it makes a third glitched aura.

I hope this guide helped you.

Awesome, I was wondering when some one was going to open up Pandora's box.

Well there is some equip that I disagree on -- probably because I am cheap, and probably because I use my paladin to kill Diablo Clones and Ubers. Here's the things I do want to point out: the Dragon is completely unnecessary. With level 20 Conviction combined with Crescent Moon you will be able to break all immune and add an additional -35% lightning resistance. This by itself is more than adequate for MFing even with players 8 activated.

Also, magic find isn't actually necessary so long as you are able to load up additional players into your game in order to max out your item drop potential.

Well, here's my set up.

yeah, i'll totally vouch that crescent moon + this would be badass, even broken immunes would be eaten by the pulses..

my sorc is a fireball sorc + melee/dreamer, so i use phoenix weapon and it is fantastic! the only pots i use go to keeping my merc alive

Well it's mostly for self mfing, or else self stack would be useless.

Yes, I understand all of your stated points. I wasn't trying to disapprove its validity -- all I am stating is that your equipment choices are a tad expensive, and can be greatly enhanced by switching out a few of your proposed gears with cheaper, more cost effective gears (ex: Dragon with Duress, Crescent Moon with Hand of Justice, ...)

Lastly, you have to take into consideration that there will be players with different methods of playing, that means consequently there will be players playing with multiple copies of Diablo 2 running. Meaning that there will be people who will join their own games with their other copies of Diablo 2 in order to boost up the numbers of item drops per monsters, meaning that a game consisting of 1 player will yield far less drops then say a game consisting of 4 players (or even 8 players.)

Again, I was not discrediting your guide or anything, rather pointing out the weak points in your guide.
