I think I came across you or someone else in pubs on N/A D2R rocking a similar build like this. Do you ever wear Shako, or have your smite and holy fire as w1/w2 swaps?
The guy I ran into was destroying me with a similar build to this. I think he was running the 3 piece HOJ/Dragon build & conv active on main (thus appearing as a dragon) but on swap he had grief pb/phoenix and fanat.
I was playing around with my first attempt at the daydreamer with my char "Grocery_Eater" (+FOH HOJ scept) and this guy ran a train on me. After running into him in pubs multiple days back in winter, we started chatting and I was tempted to switch to a build like this.
In any case, nice build. Its good to see this novel hybrid build. I couldn't find a modern guide for this until i saw yours. Appreciate you!
I don't prebuff i just have CTA on switch so it probably wasn't me, however I think I do know the guy you're talking about and he does grief/phoenix on switch with cube CTA. It's extremely effective and really versatile, really hard to deal with and I think that dude is a bit better than me. I am still learning some of the more modern techniques like having cube cta/grief but it seems like a lot of the best players play like this.
I also don't wear shako, i have big stat rings and ammys and marrowalks to have COA if i ever want to switch while still wearing dragon armor. I think Shako is definitely viable tho just depends on what you like.
