alright so yea, it basically depends on the other gear you use, but im going to list GM Dueling smiter gear, and compare shako vs coa

all this gives 49% DR.

Coa Pros vs shako
30% Fhr
20-30 res
extra 1% Dr
more def

Coa Cons vs shako
174 str req
over 100 life/mana lost
loss of +1 skill (less BO life)

Imo: ber'd shako trumps coa, as a fair amount of life is lost from Shako life mod, stating for coa, and -1 BO.

However, this comparison is basically for a smite vs smite or smite vs physical damage.

on a char like a Tele smiter, Coa would probably be more effective if they sacrifice DR for Fcr gear. Not to mention the fhr/res would be quite useful.

Have you all gone daft? Lulz, only melee/ranged damage deals physical damage, bashing with your shield is just smite damage, so LOL at your %dr builds

coa is way better than shako in nearly any situation, silly fools lol
the only argument that was given is "life life life life", coa offers way more than that especially for palabuilds such as smite and hdin

using a zaka is a horrible solution, so is using shako ber combined with it
either use spirit or exile, depends what you're looking for on your smite, but stick to coa in nearly any situation
you may use shako in a few 1n1s like vs necros together with a spirit and a wisp or whatever gear fits your playstyle
