Awesome guide! Ive always been a lowkey fan of eth ariocs on an a2 might merc, used on necro a lot of times (minions get the +skills bonus via might) and ofc necro is already has unlimited decrep & amps. Kinda want to copy the build onto a goldfind necro and see how it goes. Dont need gavel so can use najs or spellsteel for tele charges, or demon limb for the imba merc chants.

i was using;
lw+beast
act 2 merc
gface cham/fort/ebotd, about 63k dps

now im using
lw+beast
a5 frenzy
arreat cham, fort, grief mh, headstriker oh, about 106k dps

if you use double lw, it goes up to 111k dps but on stack 6 or 7, so im opting for instant full breakpoints instead

then ofc warcry/battle cry monsters, swap to double CS lem and wealth armor for hork

The paper DPS is higher, but the gameplay in practice is worse and slower.
As long as you enjoy it more it's fine. They're both usable.

Got 45 pages into reading this and have changed my set up plenty of times already. Unsure if this was mentioned past page 45 but Console player here so unable to use/aim gavel. Have found ebotd/fort/chamd guil works best without any curses. I just use battle cry and demons limb.

Would you change anything to merc setup w/out the use of gavel?

And to think it was originally my idea. And that i got harassed and bullied for mentioning it. Imagine that. I used it many many years ago and knew it was a winner. Doubles merc killing speed.

I play a summoner ~80% of the time, didn't need any convincing re: gavel. I've run a few gold barbs, this one so far has been the best.

I mean this is one of those situations where the world is filled with brilliant people who can't be bothered to couch shit down on paper to share, or they do so at the wrong time.

I can guarantee you I've suffered similar frustrations with dozens of ideas, with credit going to people who came after me for reasons that were completely unfair.

Shit happens. At this point I genuinely think you should make an UPDATED version of this guide, as I keep pointing people to my profile due to changes in New Game remake shortening under 1min, as well as changes to Find Potion synergy, yadda yadda. Also didn't add a section about Ladder vs. NL.

It's a project I've put on hold due to real life getting in the way but I can promise you there's still value in a high effort guide covering just about everything Goldfinding.

Alternatively, I guess you can keep reliving the frustration of not having your genius recognized at the time that you expressed the idea. I just don't think it's worth much; the value of this guide is in the info it shares, not in the credit I get for it. I'm more frustrated that I can't edit it any further, if anything, as updates to D2R have come in.
