Very good guide. I prefer to have max smite over max holy shock, just a preference of mine. But overall very good

totally understandable... but here is my reasoning to why i didnt do that

Comparisons:
1 smite , 20 hshield = smite less
20 smite, 1 hshield = smite more

but that will never be the case... you will always have left over points when you make a T/V so it will end up being like 15:20 or 20:15

Actual Comparisons:
15 smite, 20 hshield
20 smite, 15 hshield

and its practically the same...i just tested this out myself.

Test was done like this:
made 2 builds exact same gear (both had 0% crushing blow)
only diff was one maxed holy shield, and other one maxed smite
they were then both placed next to each other and traded hits (taking turns for who hits first)

Heres screenshot:

did you use hellfire? smite build should of won 100%

i believe it's 8kdef/1k dmg vs. 2k damage

I had believed that too, based on some math I'd done, but I tested it out myself and found that while smite did more damage than holy shield, it was quite an insignificant difference.

Must've missed something in my math.

i did use torch, but they both wore 5% fire stack too from waterwalks... and torch went off pretty evenly for all of the tests.

basically the damage is so minor that it doesnt even really matter. but the 4k def +1% block on the other hand can play a factor on if u get hit or not vs other opponents. i think it helps more

would u care to give me the full calculations for smite vs holyshield comparisons?

opps i guess i did. however, thats a bad idea. foh and hshock gets a better synergy when they're statted evently (give or take 1-2pts)

maxing 1 and then putting points into other gives less total damage

yea it also adds 3+ to smite and fant and holy shield and stuff... thats why i didnt want to not use it when i was testing the damage you know? too many variables if i did that

But gives you a more optimal Smite Damage which would be used much more when being sorbed and stacked upon, Especially in Pubs
