whereas deadly multiplies dmg the same way regardless if you increase ias or ed% - it's just a simple multiplier for dps purposes.
This is what you said

Deadly strike has a chance to double dmg u wana do the math on how u can get a higher chance of that? Il give you a clue ias

let's say you do 100 base weapon dmg, no off weapon ed, and attack at 1 swing per second. you do 100 dps.

add 15% deadly, you do 115 dps. its a 1.15 multiplier.

now let's say you do 100 base weapon dmg, no off weapon ed, and attack at 1.2 swing per second. you do 120 dps.
add 15% deadly, you do 120 * 1.15 = 138 dps

now lets say you do 100 base weapon dmg, but now you have +300% off weapon ed, and attack at 1 swing per second. you do 400dps.

add 15% deadly, you do 400 * 1.15 = 460 dmg

deadly acts as a simple multiplier, just like I said, just like the link says.

Mate you're arguing up the wrong tree here. No one's saying Treachery is dogshit relative to a plain 4os armor. But it's 100% dogshit for sub 1 min trav runs where the bottleneck is 1-tapping mobs and gtfo asap

sources of % enhanced damage are all added together before multiplying your damage. Its common for chars to have 1000%+ enhanced damage, so adding another 20% enhanced damage, via jewels or skills or stats, won't increase your overall damage by 20%. It increases it by 20% of your base damage (weapon damage + added min/max)
deadly strike multiplies your overall physical damage again, after %ed, doubling it. If you have a 50% chance to deadly strike, you have 1.5x your overall physical damage

so why are you reiterating what i said about deadly?

and no, mercs do not commonly have 1000% off weap ed lol. which is why fort/coh is significantly better than attacking 1 frame faster

Why are you doing a 1.5 multiier its a 15% chance to x2 after all the ed

Yes, it's a flat 15% increase in damage (15% of the time, you deal 100% more damage)
That's a 1.15 multiplier.

Or am I missing something obvious?

If it was 100% deadly strike, you would make it a 2x multiplier.

You are correct hes applying it to each hit and says ias does not matter when u want ias for a higher chance to get a ds
