Well you saw my post on Stigander topic, indeed I just discovered that multi-overflow thing.
Thus I was thinking of new gear, when dueling anything except pure physical (smiter - pure physical barbs -> not many I guess).
Suppose your opponent got 1 or more form of elemental damages :
- elemental charms (by mistake)
- highlord (many have it for the deadly strike of course, also for the ias)
- raven (for CbF, I will talk more about this later)
- grief on non-smiter (fire damages)
- faith (fire damages)
...
many usefull items for CC builds got some form of elemental.
So why not trying a pure mdr-build ?
helm : Hawnin + Mal (17mdr + 20replen, cold res)
body : Natalya + 3xMal (21mdr, PLR, poison res)
boots : Natalya (40frw, cold/light res, 15mdr from set-bonus)
belt : Strings (no change)
amu : 120mana / 6mdr for perfect but impossible, or simply Crescent moon (45mana 10mdr)
rings/gloves for mana (SoJ/frost), need tests but maybe in some situation dwarves could be fine (15mdr/fire%abs)
for a total of ~76 mdr with Insight on, ~101mdr with Hoto+Gerke-Mal.
vs Elemental damages, just working as 76/101 dr
vs physical + 1element working as 76/117dr (Gerke adds 16pdr)
vs physical + 2elements working as 152 / 218 dr !!
vs physical + 3elements working as 218 / 320 dr !!!!!
then you dont even need to get 95%es to be safe, I tested vs a Forty/Grief/Highlord/Raven/Beast/Gores/full 10/76/45 WW-barb, zero damage taken with 90%es only and 0 pdr, only mdr !
plus all gear is really cheap (except 120/6 amu) !!
and about Raven, if you build a FrozenOrb/es sorc, you can be sure that everybody will put Raven to duel you !

the set bonus from natatia sounds fun!
the splendor helm i used on my verry old immortal sorc (when i not had the circlet yet!)
but you must keep some things in consideration!
ofc nado and smite not have overflow / and some barbs may not have ele damage (3% of them, thats my ghostspear baba!)
Also important, pdr get bigger numbers then mdr in rare items, amu+circlet, upto 50pdr and 3 sockets for 21 mdr (2sockets for more mana!)
ofc that 10mdr amu, could cound for 3times, making it 30pdr vs overflow melee (however, 3 times is not always happening!)
and something about the grief, i gess the beast is calculated seperatly, making fire dam not overflow the mdr
its also posible to turn your pdr into mdr, java / zeal sorc / bow sorc / fireclaw / auradin / zerk?
i like your input, and give it some more thats about it!
this bild of mine is to cut of all attacks! (smite and hammer!)
ofc a calculation of the minimum needs vs any char would be great, but is hard!
