Use vortex all you like just saying the extra def doesn't matter at all when the life helps vs every other opponent. They're both minuscule adds but i'd take the life > the tiny def bonus since that's more useful.

a paladin with 5k life can tank 2 hammer(assuming the hdin has high dmg) with that 80 more he can tank 1 more hit !!!

a paladin with exile vortex is raping pubs. There is barb, hammer, bower, blizz sorc, fire sorc, trap assa and windy.
The 80 hp does shit there. So does 5k more def. But pubbys is getting pwned.

Yeah. 80hp helps in those situations you mentioned, but you duel more often barbs, where you need the extra def over life, than 15k dmg hammerdins with 5k hp. (or similiar situation)

you duel barb often on your smiter? i play on a pussy realm(east) where barb fear smiters like me so this is wrong from my experience
