One of the better zealots on west made that point...zealots are all about creativity and that's why they're fun.

There is no "right way" to make one.

Anyone who has ever zvz knows this.

Myself? I'm in love with my eth up'd duriel's shell, and I'm always looking for gear to build around this.

I actually have only met 2 zealots on east who have used that setup and I actually never thought of it until I actually dueled someone who used it. One of those zealots was actually a pub who wouldn't trade his to me hehe. And yes the dueleing aspect of gm melee doesn't take any skill but the actual creating of the char is what takes a lot more thought than any other type of char you could make.

zeal vs. zeal is more about your knowledge of the game and not your manual dexterity.

You have to know a lot about the game's mechanics, along with knowing the items.

I've found that Duriel's is awesome vs. non-fort bulids. Can't be frozen means you don't need cham or raven. It also has high defense, strength, and extra life.

edit: I think duriel's > gbane because it has a lot more useful mods.

Yeah they're both good armors although there are glitched gbanes which would make that a better option. Although the only armor I ever used on my main zealot was a shaft since that never failed me

There's only a few zbug gbanes on west (one just sold for a few 1,000 fg...and I doubt we'll ever see another one up for sale).

Since exile is banned here, shaft kinda loses out to stormshield.

Yeah that's true I didn't do non tap zvz to much tbh so always had exile on unless was dueling a conc/fury.

interestingly, it was somewhat popular before grief was added.
if you can get around "amp being bm" and the fact that life tap overrides (so a non-drac/exile build), it has a higher damage output than most of the other zeal weapons (but no ar sadly)

but what kinda duel is it where amp is gm but tap is bm? heh

but its a fun niche build.
for example, ebotd might do 5500 average damage, while lacerators do 2500
but after amp damage, they're the equivalent of 7500, since amp triples ur damage
