This is the gear I used to make a hybrid on ladder so it should be applicable to all realms as it doesn't rely on bugged items, 08/09 realm specific rares/crafts or anything like that. Feel free to use any of this information in your guide to stop the bitching about shide and d2pk items since you can make this sin on realms with base str/dex if you have to. You can wear any combination of elite/exceptional claws and see for yourself which works out best. I use runic/feral because I can and theres no sense to me in paying more fg for lower damage claws like gts.
Gear:
Helm:
+2 Assassin Skills/20% Faster Cast Rate Circlet (2x of these, one plain and reasonably cheap 2os, double ber'ed and a 1os rare with other nice mods like +20 str and 15/15ed)
Amulet:
Mara's Kaleidoscope/Highlord's Wrath/2 skill/10fcr/life/mana 'Caster' ammy
Armour:
'Enigma' Mage Plate
Belt:
Arachnid Mesh
Ring 1:
Ravenfrost
Ring 2:
Crafted 'Blood' ring with 10% faster cast rate/20+ strength/life/mana
Gloves:
Trang Oul's Claw
Boots:
Shadow Dancer
Claws:
Runic Fury and Feral Chaos
Strength:
I've got +20 str on my circlet and +20 str on fcr ring and at level 96 Enigma gives +72 str
20 base
20 torch
20 anni
20 circlet
20 fcr ring
72 enigma
5 maras
10 chaos
total = 187 strength
Its pretty easy to go base strength and still have more than enough points to wear elite claws and sdancers (str req = 167). Add 5 points if you want to use Highlords and still have some headroom do things like swap circlet for a double ber'ed circ that doesn't cost a billion fg.
Dexterity:
20 base
20 torch
20 anni
20 ravenfrost
5 maras
25 sdancers
total = 110 dexterity
I added 10 hard points in dex because I wanted to have Highlord's and fcr ammy available as swaps. When you get to level 96 you can use a 10fcr/15 dex ring instead of a 10fcr/20 str ring and still be able to wear sdancers so its possible to wear everything with base str and dex if you can be arsed to baal that long. I guess you can add a bit more str if you still want the flexibility to swap between double ber circ and rare 1os assuming you aren't one of those rich gits that has a 2/20/vis/str/2os bastard circ.
Conclusion:
I dont think its difficult to make this sin on any realm using any combination of elite claws. Difference on the character sheet iisn't huge between a runic and gt I guess but it all adds up with an attack like whirlwind. I think most people are better off not obsessing over numbers and practicing their tri whirls etc so they can make all of their damage count. Ladder is where you can see alot of people with ridiculously baller builds doing slopping whirls so it doesn't matter if their damage is huge cuz they can't convert it.
I stopped obsessing over stats in favor of just dumping the points where I need them to a point since I like having gear flexibility to experiment with different setups without breaking everything.
Sin does 3.7k/2.8k whirl with 4.8k ar roughly (fury) and 3.7k/2.5k with 10.5k ar (fools) (1 point mastery). At level 96, LS will be upwards of 7k dmg (mines level 95 with 7.1k LS with a hard point in dtalon/dclaw and bladeshield). My fools is a gt though because I haven't found a runic one with 2os and 40% ias that doesn't cost a fortune.
Using the same setup on my Ghost gives 3.9k/3k whirl with 6.6k ar (fury) and 14.5k (fools) as well as a dearth of spare skill points after hitting 50% dr with fade + enigma only and 60% claw block with all setups + the hard points in dtalon/dclaw and bladeshield.
Why the hell did you post a guide in a guide?
