My sorceress still sucks despite my best efforts. Help me please. I have tried to soak everything up from this thread and I think I am on the right track.

My goal is to be able to solo Hell Baal. Help me get there. Please.

It is has been insanely tough to even gear my sorceress up to this level. I don't know if I can keep up the grind to get this character to the next level. It is so frustrating after the work I have put into leveling and gearing up this character - I still cannot accomplish Hell Chaos or Hell Baal and Hell Travanical. And my runs of Andy, Countess, Shenk, Mephisto never go smoothly, I always manage to die every couple runs.

Do I just not click fast enough? Do I not know how to play my sorceress ? I usually on groups of monsters use chain lighting, only bosses I use Lighting and static. And I use teleport a lot.

I could really use some help and encouragement. Most just insight, how do I improve my character so I can meet my goals.

Hmm.... Well, first of all, try to max your fire resist (e.g. with one or two single resist small charms). Fire resist is extremely important in Travincal (where you have to tank hydras, because they'll kill your merc very fast otherwise - I don't know if they're bugged or not, but iirc they do something like 10 times as much damage to the merc as they should) and Chaos Sanctuary.
Swap a soj for a dwarf for those two areas as well, and for a wisp for Baal (if the souls are a problem).
Another thing you can do is get a CtA. I know I said it wasn't necessary in my guide, but if you find yourself lacking survivability it's always an option.
Other than that, well, like Nehilim pointed out, sorceresses are almost like glass cannons. You can't afford to get hit a lot, no matter what build you're using. Don't tele into groups of monsters, tele far away enough to make them have to come to you, but close enough for them to be affected by the merc's conviction as soon as possible. When they get close, tele away again.
Also you can use lightning on larger groups, especially if they're nicely lined up.
Also read what aneas and Synonym had to say a page or two back.

Try to see what really does most of the damage to you, as I can't really provide more advice without knowing what the problem is. Is it melee mobs? Will-o-wisps? Undead souls? Venom Lords? Lag? Does your merc die too fast, causing you to die as well?
