yes, widow switch is for dueling again bvcs and stuff when you cant hit them with ww. its not required but ofc it may help. it can also force trappers to not sit in their traps and just camp you.

here is screenshot of skill tree. no i do not recommend the point into mastery. as you have seen here yourself, the whole point of gclaw is to have powerful ww WITHOUT the mastery. because if u put points into mastery, that would only leave you with even weaker trap damage. even for a non gclaw sin build, i would not recommend mastery. its either good ww damage with a gclaw or good traps damage without it. dont try to make up for the lost ww damage by sacrificing your other damage.

widow can be used against overly defensive trappers, if you want to (or if must be) in combination with high rep life gear.


another matchup is against barbs, however i found that 9 trapskillers and 102/86 maxblock is usually better against really good barbs since you dont have to lure them to you anyways and widowing always means a risk unless you really want to emphasize on widow which means different playstyle and partly different equipment.
i started experimenting with the widow/maxblock 102/86 build against barbs like 2 years ago. here is a video i made against a (not that great) barb so you get the idea:

/e: you should be using 7 trapskillers and cta in inv (unless you prebo) whatsoever though.

and yes, i agree with you on the vs barbs part. Playing like a trapper vs. barbs was already recommended in my Dueling Strategies section however i believe i failed to mention that you can swap on 9x trap gcs to make the process go quicker... but as for the 102/86 part, its hard to get max block since im base dex. if u can show me how to then that would be very useful, but otherwise i'll just stick to my 65fcr/27fhr c/c setup.

this is a pretty basic setup for blockswitch
however it might be hard to get mb with base dex at high level, but you wont need to spend much in dex anyway (I guess you need with base dex since you are already lvl 97 and dont feel like remaking?)

you can adjust that setup a bit though
like using hoto (10dex + 1 skill + oak, you wont get 86 fhr though and you need to use fhr sk to hit 48)
you could try getting 20dex craft fcr ring and 2soc high dex circ with 2 jewels with dex (expensive, yes, but you say you already spent 77k on the char ^^), if you can get such circ then you only need 1 fhr sc with hoto for 48fhr
and ofc you could use couple dex scs/sks to get away with base dex

dont feel like calculating if you need to add any extra dex ^^

ya im too lazy to calculate it too lol. ima just stick with what im doing right now (the c/c 65fcr setup i use right now and 9x trap skillers on switch) i think i'd lose too much stuff from tryin to get max block with that ss

at 97 you need 200 dex with eld storm

base is 20, anni + torch brings it to 60
dancers + 15dex fcr ring brings it to 100
raven + 20dex amu brings it to 140
ik gloves brings it to 160
20 dex circ + 9dex from jewel brings it to 189
hoto brings it to 199
so you'd need to get either a crafted ring with 16dex, a 2soc circ with 12+ dex or a dex sc
or level 1 more level and stat 2 in dex
