How do you decide between ebotdz and edc for the different setups? I have a nice Templars & Valor but only own an EDC lol

edit: To be fair I also have a nice shaft but for some reason I really don't want to use it. How much am I gimping myself by going with one of the above over shaft?

I prefer shaft since it makes really balanced setups and you can swap out Shako for vis as a swap setup when needed depending on the stats of the vis and the way you stat your zeal. Cc is a good option as well and competitive with shaft setups since I don’t think there are many good visionaries yet

I use both ebotdz and edc but more often I stick with edc especially when I’m dueling other zealots since they’ll have high def with exile. Non tap against furies and jab I’ll always use ebotdz for max damage. So basically it varies depending on who you’re dueling and what setup your opponent is using. If you seem to be losing a lot to an opponent it wouldn’t hurt to try swapping the wep out and see how that does.

For tap shaft will be easiest to make the best setups generally. Other setups like valor are more limited when using exile. With valor you need a ber/ber coa for dr and then you need a raven for cannot be frozen. So you’ll end up with a decent amount of lower ar compared to shaft so in tap it tends to not do as well. Non tap you’ll have an ss for dr so you aren’t nearly as limited.

Is there an established optimized build for Heaven’s Light? I need to use my Perfect Eth Heaven’s!

Which shield: Eth Alma, Eth Hoz ?

Depends on the armor choice for the non tap setup. For shaft setup you’d go alma and for fort sa or other armor choice you’d go ss. Just use hoz for pvm or on bo switch.

What's your thoughts on helms in d2r considering the following:
- No ebug possible, generally lower defence in tap-duels.
- 2os Visios are rare
- 1os Visio vs shako


My thoughts:
No-tap: I found that 1os visio is ok no-tap for an edge in AR where it's still easy to use angelics and maintain 50% dr + cannot be frozen. Also OK vs conc-barb. Got a 1os 8% deadly 29hp visio.
Tap: Shakos are probably the best unless you have a godly 2os visio for cham+ber.

I agree. In tap you won’t do very well using a 1 soc viso so I’d either go c/c setup or Shako/shaft until there’s a usable 2 soc option. You can’t ebug anymore so my usual eprud recommendation for non tap is gone for now. You can definitely get by with a 1 soc vis in non tap by using either a non eth alma when using shaft or when using an ss for fort sa.

That's exactly what I'am doing, got a bered non-eth alma, and the visio is chammed.

Got both cc and shako/shaft for tap, the benefit of shako/shaft IMO is that I don't have to respec to not feel I waste stat-points when changing between tap/notap (got a levi with -req/ed), just a little bit of dex wasted basically in no-tap because statpoints for 75block with exile. The additional defence from shaft seems to help also.

Trying to craft them armets, will hopefully have a 2os ds-visio before retirement..

edit: thanks for your input. It's tempting to use a 1os visio with 45% dr but probably not the best option!

Along this same discussion, I have a 20s Viso: 165 total Defense, 10% FHR, VISO mod, 95% ED, 11 life (Cham/Ber) - its not GG but its a 20s Viso with decent defense. Would you roll that out over the Shako Setup? (I mostly run EDC/Shaftstop). I have a pretty good Knights Mod Exile for Tap and an Eth Alma for non-tap.

Secondly, I have a nice Fort SA / EBotdz setup for fighting non-zealers, what would be the most ideal socket for my SS?

Last question, given my gear, is there a need for me to find a good non-eth Almas?
