Great guides, found them really useful and interesting. It is my first time playing barb and I was getting crushed trying to WC in hell and gave up until I read your guide. Atm, I'm rocking an ebotd warpike, eth fort and eth andy's. I have a 30% ED 26 fire res jewel and wondered if I should use this in helm or instead, use a cham.

My merc does seem to get freezing debuff alot but not sure if cham stops this or if its an aura. What would you recommend? Without ral or fr jewel, I'm at 53% FR using andy helm / 22% short of cap.

I noticed above you said about using a cham instead of a ral if you could re-write.

Cham is very good, but it has issues if you're on Fort/Andy since the FR drops too low. If you use CoH instead of Fort, you can use the Cham more easily.
Try and get a 3os circlet of Lamprey to replace Andy otherwise, then use 15ias/X + 15ias/X + Cham.

There are a lot of setups that work & include Cham; different BOTD base for instance, etc.

Thanks for the quick reply. I managed to get a 7 LL 3 os lamprey tiara for fairly cheap. My friend seemed to think that cham wouldn't stop the slow as its an aura or something. Is this true?

If I don't use cham, it doesn't seem to sim much higher than Andy's though and 3 x 40 ed / 15 ias jewels is not going to be cheap on ladder... (11.369 dps normal attack for lamprey vs 9977 for andy + 32,006 for jab with lamprey vs 31,182 jab).

Am I missing something? Is lamprey superior by a wide margin using a different weapon to ebotd/base?

The Holy Freeze you can't stop, but it'll stop the usual chill effect.
It won't sim much higher than Andy's, but what you get is you avoid the resistance penalty of Andy's, and you get the same breakpoints.
That lets you use Fortitude + Cham; if you use Andy Cham with Fort, you often end up losing out on a lot of resists for the Merc. That's why Cham is usually easier with Chains of Honor as an armor since it brings so much more resistance to the table.

Thanks for the response. So if I don't run CoH, should I just stick with a 26 fire res 30 ed jewel in my eth andy's and roll with eth fort and eth botd warpike and then maybe switch to lamprey if I can afford COH?

There are other setups I wish I could add. Stuff like a GT EBOTD base + cham'd gface + fort

But yes, if you're on andy for the ias, you need the fire res.

Some budget options feedback. ETH 5os War Pike Obedience is damn nice. The problem is getting ias elsewhere but he owns really hard on a budget setup. I gave him eth upped GA with a 21% fire/15ias jewel and a normal andy with a 27fire/15ias jewel to reach 6.5fpa BP. fire res/ias jewels are really expensive on ladder so I scrapped the ones I could get.
It works. Rarely, very rarely a corpse shatters, nothing out of this world.

Yeah I guess the resists + self enchant + FHR (pseudo-IAS) with CB would do well. I'll mess with it a bit more; at that point isn't Reaper's Toll just a better alternative, or is the price that steep?

Eth reapers is expensive (300fg now). Normal reaper's isn't fast enough to prevent council from healing each other. Reaper's in general shatters corpses more often. Also, gavel works better.
