Blame the rules which they are trying to enforce.
Most moderators don't know or won't acknowledge where the greatest D2 resources are located, hence their only means of judgment is whether those sites have
competitive trading forums or not, regardless if we link to a calculator that has nothing to do with trading on those sites. They will still treat it as indirect advertising.
Shopping sites are forbidden too, such as linking to Chippydip's Skill Planner @ d2items.com/skills.php, which is kind of ironic considering the trading of shopped junk
going on in the d2jsp trading forums on a daily basis. It works like this,
" If you want to use d2jsp for your trades, great (in fact, we don't care how your items got here in the first place, whether they are found, duped, shopped etc.).
At the same time, references to shopping sites and other sites with trading communities are not allowed "
I've had a few 'incidents' about external links in the past, but it seems the mods grew tired of 'discussing' with me. I lean towards the explanation that the amount of
D2 resources in my profile has grown so large that no one bothers reading over it anymore ^__^
And I intend to keep it that way so that everyone can access the resources anytime.
The mod team's 'offensive stance' is a matter of business and business is also the reason why they do not simply forbid the trade of bugged and massively duped items.
Quantity rules (40 HRs or whatever) are just a mild restriction; we all know that people often circumvent this by not specifying the amount they offer and thus regularly
restock their HRs, unmade rune words etc. As long as the FG is rolling, no further action is taken. The community knows the risk of disallowing those trades, seeing as it
would force its members to trade their valuable items (often obvious dupes) elsewhere.
This simple relation: FG ~ $$$ is the core of d2jsp trading.
