very early ladder, maybe
later, not so much.
i'd rather use non-eth Arioc's with Gavel

reaper is a good "fire and forget" weapon, but it's inefficient
each corpse represents a few seconds per run once you boil it down, and with the buff to Find Item's success rate through synergy, on p1 you get more than 2/3rds of your loot from the corpses, not the kills

Im talking about a WW build, not merc only. I wouldnt use reaper in merc only build

I see. My bad :bonk:

Yeah, I mean, you still lose a few corpses (1-2 per run normally) if the Merc connects a freeze, but it's not like you have access to better options at that point.
Infinity on A2 Might Merc with Grief/Beast is super sweet otherwise; avoids Freezes entirely from the usual Pride/Reaper's, and you get to ignore AR% completely while hitting max speed on WW/Zerk.

I wish there was a decent non-freezing alternative in the midgame for Auras/support. It's kinda weird now that I think about it.

Yeah ofc, it's more I'm annoyed at how there's basically no good Merc setup for WW that doesn't Freeze, early.

Hey guys, i'm running a berserk barb on hardcore this ladder season, trav runs have been very smooth. I'm using a guardian angel and two 15mdr dwarf stars...I was wondering if a second dwarf star is even necessary? Do you know how diminished the returns are at 90% fire resist?

I tried it with one ring equipped and the main threat still seems to be physical damage and not hydras, but I wanted to know everyone's opinion on how much survival a second ring is adding.

Thanks!

There isn’t any diminishing returns on integer DR or MDR so to speak.

It simple lowers the damage you receive by the amount it says.

So for example, a hydra deals 100 damage (this is an example. I don’t know off hand how much damage hydras from hell trav actually do). You have 90 max Fire Resist

Hydra now does 10 damage

You have 15% sorb from dwarf.

Hydra now does 7 damage (15% sorb is essentially double applied. Reducing damage by 15% then giving you 15% life. So essentially it’s best to just recognize it as 30% reduction.

Now you have 12 MDR from dwarf.

Hydra now heals you for 5 damage.

The healing mechanism can go to infinity.

it seems as if i'm taking 0-1 damage from hydras with 90 fire res / two dwarf stars...after the council dies when i stand in them i don't even heal, i just take 0 or 1 dmg

Dwarf Star sadly isn't Fire Absorb but just Fire Absorb %. It's another, smaller layer of resists, essentially.
Flat Fire Absorb would be absurd >_>

Dwarf star has magic damage reduce on it.

Which is exactly what I explained above.
