You know just as well as I do that 120 life on an Amazon can go a long way, considering the frequency of blocking/dodging/avoiding/evading
and also the ridiculous amount of life rep that an Amazon can front, especially ZvA specs that are not limited to the ZvZ 22 rep limit.

Hey if FOI works for you, go for it. At the end of the ZvA DII scene I had just seen more situations where that extra survivability
through diamond/shadow equates to a win, than a bit of extra bow damage. Again, the biggest factor here is how infrequently
you actually get to use that extra bow damage in ZvA matches, especially if they were against strong players in world ladder or fg duels.
Some aggressive build structures just demanded that a ZvA stayed javside almost 100% of the time and these were the duels that mattered.
They were the duels that were against your hard-counters. So it makes a player start figuring ways to tweak for that javside defense/offense
so that he has higher probability of success for engaging the hard counters, rather than worrying about the bowside. I found that
any build that allows you to bow against it "with the exception of other Bowazons" was going to lose anyway, regardless of if
you are wielding GMB Faith, FOI, Diamond/Shadow or even a Riphook. This is why I ultimately fashioned my ZvA build around
survival javside vs. hard-counters, rather than tweaked bowside damage.

But even so, if I did it all over again I would actually expand past the single character stash limit and create a mule to carry a glass GMB setup
with a lot of life/mana leech for vs. Druid/Necromancers/Trappers. I would also for once, carry an appropriate ZvZ setup ^^
I never did get anywhere in BowaPK while rocking that Diamond ZvA setup. To much res, not enough ranged DPS.

for team duels damage is 200% better than 120 life, not even a question.
in 1v1 it's debatable, but usually vs good players when i played on private realms, the stats earned by using a low dmg bow (shadow or diamond) were not worth it at all.
i think the biggest plus is the liferep add and usually people were pure aggressive so it didn't really have time to kick in. and if someone decided to box me and play gay it didn't really matter cause i'd lose eventually just because lack of chasing power. I think the only matchup i'd use a low dmg bow over GMB is vs druids, where you can use a lot of leech and even dracs if you wanna be gay :) or tele bowa with matri.. which is a huge underdog anyway

my 2c, maybe the game has changed since i last played

Depends on what's in your team.
If you have a Barbarian fronting maximum BO and a Druid with Oak, vita setups are by far better in team duels, hands down no debate.
The amount of sustain you are gaining with Diamond/Vita/Dungo setups far outweighs a small boost in DPS with a GMB/Vita or some strange GMB/Glass spec.
Remember that Amazons dodge/avoid/evade/block about 3/4 incoming attacks so +2000 more life goes a long way.

You really do not gain much DPS at all by sacrificing 50% DR "Diamond/Shadow setups" for the 35% DR "GMB setups"
In other words, the gained DPS is not as large of a numerical factor as the extra damage the opponent will be dealing to you when your DR goes from 50% to 35% and you lose 200 life
Remember that DAMAGE in pvp is reduced to .17 of it's original on-screen value but LIFE is not reduced at all.
Not sure why people never understood this. If they did, they'd quickly understand why all of the better duelists ran 100% pure vitality setups on every character & spec.
