Well edc does help a little bit for ar issues. From what I see edc gets rid of -16.5% of other player's base defense which helps a little bit. Lets see a pvp zealot has somewhere around 3k defense base without holy shield, defiance, and chilling armor. 3000*.165=495 defense

-16.5% is a lot in melee, though.. that cuts def likes nothing lol

But again your opponent loses about 500 defense if you use edc. That's what I was trying to point out the whole time. Sorry but I'm too lazy to calculate how much of a better chance that you will hit your opponent assuming you calculate the -16.5% defense. I'm guessing you get a 2-3% higher to hit. Still its a big help.

16.5% of 35k in nontap or 60k in tap is 5775 to 9900 defense taken away, not 500.

Really don't understand how you can understand that and still come up with quotes like this :

This, because it removes def that could potentially have been multiplied by HS/Defiance etc

Yes sir. People often times confuse convict -def% with -% from items. That's why I would always do eth/lo in a fools if I had a 2 soc rep fools.
