Eth Arioc is a solid option. Beast is still a great weapon on your barb though, since it boosts the damage and attack speed of both you and your merc.
My favorite setup atm is Beast+Ali Baba or 6x lem weapon while merc is running eBotd War Pike, eth CoH, and 3os life leech helm with Cham and 15/40s. Fantastic damage and clear speed.
Plus I run a 58% Find Item setup that is really great with the current hidden/bugged bonus from Find Potion.
I will keep my act 5 merc gear for now since I don't want to go through the trouble of finding it all again. They might change things up with new patches further down the road anyway.
Dual Grief on A5 Merc seems to work best somehow. Tightest, consistent damage range so far?
Demon Limb/HOTO on swap for the prebuff, ditching Gavel (tragic). Technically you don't need Demon Limb since you can just Battle Cry for -100% Def, but whatever, it's a little less micromanagement this way.
Drawback is, well, no Amp Dmg means Phys Immunity is unkillable. With Gavel, the time per clear doesn't improve at all, unlike with A2 Merc. Probably something to do with Amp Dmg allowing the A2 Merc to burst and confirm kills shortly after engaging every monster, whereas the A5 Merc doesn't get to do that as reliably and always spends a fair bit of time on each target.
It's very odd. Could be that the Merc just overrides Amp Dmg too often for Gavel to matter, so better off sticking with Demon Limb? Unsure.
Assuming I just focus on picking up gold, I can be in/out of games in 40-45s~ or so. Never exceed 1 minute so far, with or without Gavel, or Beast.
