102cc is in like 99.9% of all cases better against casters.

Thats the point of using w/s for kvk and shield blockable opponents such as barbs, bowzons and chargers.
It's 222 dex at level 99, not too difficult to get.

If you want a pure vita build you might as well try to avoid dueling those characters and go pure vita c/c caster killer instead.

174 trappers are effective in some cases, I didnt like 174 kicksins though, only way to do it is with Um'd wizardspike, tends to gimp kick damage some and you lose block, I agree with you that its better to go 102 vs casters in this case, w/s or c/c 102 for a heavier hitting (more ow%) weapon.
