you're a worthless fucking miscreant whose brain resides deep up your own ass so go fuck yourself before i sodomize your whole family with a chainsaw pigcunt. bow down

Still laughing at your E-rage, just because you can't proove a point with theorycrafting doesn't mean you should E-rage. it makes you look like an idiot. I doubt anyone takes you seriously.

u dodged my friend smiter when u claimed that shaper>smiters
i will ask friend to give me acces to his  east  bvc but u will proly dodge once again
im not interested in ur  long esseys full of theorycrafting which u never tested
barb rapes shaper,  ur pathetic tears and frinds brought by pm to this topic wont change that

ps. i rly insist dont pm me again its last warn before i block u lol

Is it really a dodge if I told you that I can't get on the game before you challenged me? I think I would classify that as stupidity on your part. You keep accusing me of "theory crafting" yet you haven't said anything to prove me wrong, I give you a reason why it does work and all you say is "smiters/barbs will always own shapers cuz shapers suck" you are completely clueless and you are obviously the one theory crafting. I don't know any of the people that have vouched what I have said more than seeing them in the forum a few times. I'm not sure why you talk about tears, no one is crying...Seriously kid grow up.

melee isnt determined by the type of damage you use...ww isnt melee because you must move to to attack and smite is not melee because it does not use ar, this argument will go on forever if it is started so lets not start it, last time this happened we had 89 pages of arguments as to whether smite or ww is melee. In the end *most* people agreed that in diablo 2 melee meant "stationary non ranged attack that requires attack rating and does not do damage over time."

To answer the original question, honestly I think fury druids would be the best melee build, if built right with the right gear they have the potential to kill all other melee builds, including smiters, although smite is not melee. They are also capable of killing almost every other build except necros, but maybe that is just a personal weakness of mine =/

ugg...as far as d2 is concerned, ww and smite are melee. if you want to have "melee" duels where they're excluded, fine, but by the definition of melee they are both melee. it shouldn't really matter, you can exclude whoever you want to.

by the definition of melee every skill in d2 is melee, i posed the definition. a few pages back if you want to look for it but ill probably just repost it.

that's prolly easier.

anyway, the fact that they both return thorns damage should prove that they are melee...although like i said, it doesn't really matter. exclude whoever you want if it isn't fun to duel them or w/e.

That's true.
If you want to exclude them you should just say that they are imba or overpowered, but dont argue that they arent melee. That's bullshit^^

Melee Definition1 - A group combat or ‘free for all’ where teams or groups of individuals met in the field. A mêlée can describe any group combat.

Melee Definition2 - Mêlée (from French, from Old French meslede, from Vulgar Latin misculāta "mixed", from Latin miscēre "to mix"; alternatively spelled melee) generally refers to disorganized close combat involving a group of fighters.

EVERY skill in d2 is capable of being used in close combat so according to the dictionary definitions ALL skills in diablo 2 are melee, that is why the dictionary definition is not used. These were the only definitions that applied to this situation, the other ones talk about pop-rock and engines lol.
