Auradins are better than many people give them credit especially a aura hybrid. Its becuase to duel an auradin, they have to change their gear setups to absorb, this leaves them open because they arent as well geared to use their main attacks. This is where you use your other skill as a hybrid to hopefully own them. LoL! Anyone someone who uses all sorbs stuff will suck against other buils in pub games.

Thanks, I generally agree with what you said. One caveat, a lot of good builds don't have to change their gear to handle auradins. Smiters with good stacked res, good hammerdins using wizardspike and good stack, and ww barbs with high life are prime examples. Not to mention sorcs with ES and high mana.

@destructible: there's nothing more useless in these forums than people who troll to up their post count. You win the spelling war vs. Indestructable but he comes out on top by actually adding something of value.

It's not cynical, it's practical.  Anything to do with an aura will not hurt any good duelers.  Now I will agree with you that it rapes the shit out of noobs who can't afford to have their resists stacked.  But why build a character that rapes noobs?  A punch necro in the right hands will rape noobs.

I see this as maybe a "fun" build, or something to mess around with.  But it certainly isn't something that anyone should make if they want to do well vs good players.  If they want to do well they should just stick to a smiter / charger, or at most a V/T.

I have an aurasmiter that used to compete with some top V/T's and smiters.

Just a little update on dueling strategy.

vs. a V/T, you're actually pretty likely to outconvict them (unlike what I said in the guide). Continue walking away from them if they're trying to charge into smite, use holy freeze and charge away if they're getting close to landing. As soon as they stop to foh, make sure you have conviction on and charge in. Their defense is much much lower than a smiter and they're very vulnerable when foh'ing. I often chop off about half of a v/t's life when I charge during a foh. This evens the playing field enough that you can smite v smite until they're dead.
