Really the theory behind this is rather simple. CB always casts first, this has been proven, by eliminating all other sources of dmg, ie ow, cb, and stacking Ds, then one would assume the only 2 chances to do dmg would be from normal attack and deadly strike. So removing CB does by default increase your chance to DS more. We first started talking about this back in 2006, it is not certain but it was rumored also that Cb not only cast first, but potentially could take away a Ds strike...
Ok.. I dont fully understand what you meant by "CB always casts first, this has been proven, by eliminating all other sources of dmg" - CB is taken into account before your attack sure, but then when you do your attack - why is that % chance to get a deadly strike less? Are you saying that if you land a CB then you cant land a DS? Seems silly to me, but its a really easy test, cant see how your still uncertain if you were theorising this back in 2006 lol
http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=30214082&f=87 - this is a guide by Ewya about an uber smiter, look under the open wounds section, where he creates the graph for predicting the time taken to OW - note this is on a smiter with near 100% CB - he seems to have taken no account of CB when calculating the probability of OW proc'ing...
