2. Poison does a lot more dmg than is on the wep. Brings life replenish to 0 which hurts a bit since dungos, fort etc will get cancelled out so it makes that poison dmg a lot higher. Not to mention each hit adds up the poison dmg.
3. With that logic of allowing poison then grief should be gm since it's banned for the poison (although it's overpowered which should be main reason imo). Would also require checking wep to make sure it's not grief.

1) Do we currently check everyone's charms for fire, lighting, and cold damage since those damage types are also capped at a specific level?
2) Over the course of a 10 second duel, 200 poison damage at max resists will do 8.5 damage (and that's only if a hit connects at the very beginning of a duel and the entire duration is allowed to be carried out. If you factor life replen, you can add maybe 4 extra "damage"
3) Grief was banned because of cross-class skills casting (venom) not poison
4) There are reasons we created the rules we did in 1.09. Those reasons have been lost by the current generation of melee duelers who are much more strict, and pointlessly so, than we ever were when laying the foundational principles of gm melee league dueling
5) Again, hellfire torch does more damage than any other cast or elemental damage type used by characters, period, yet everyone refuses to take them off. Such hypocrisy that someone cannot use a sword with 6 poison damage on it but everyone can use a charm that does 2.4k combined physical and fire damage at point blank range over its duration before resistances and dr are factored.
