pvp changes and evolves through out the years
a legend of the past might only be "good' today but not "amazing" etc
ofc, i know marvel and have dueled him. he was quite good, but not as "godlike" as people claim him to be
I agree it changes, which is why I think its silly for people to keep talking about players as benchmarks for today's pvp.
also I find it funny cause to me all these "gods" of the past are normal people to me, I guess cause I just got to know them through being on /f l
but lets be real here. if *anyone* does deserve credit as being a really exceptional player amongst the
many many heroes of d2's cult history.. steve does deserve the props given to him by pretty much everyone.
on a side note, not do derail the topic too much but I wanna bring it up since you mentioned pvp evolving..
imho I think d2's metagame still can yet undergo many many changes, a lot left to discover in this game. but sadly I dont think it'll ever happen. the game is reaching the end of it's lifespan for quite a while now and its not really picking up any in terms of pvp population or interest in furthering this particular build's metagame, so I doubt it ever will.
there is a bit of growth in pvp tactics over the years, but not enough to push the boundaries sadly. =\ for the most part it remains much the same.
