Mage v hdin isnt the measure of which build is better overall + I think you can outstack a mage without losing damage and staying in the 15k range

regardless tho....

both classes will have 4.5k if not more hp. its gonna be about 3 hits vs 3 hits to kill regardles. but then the mage will have another source of damage... even with stack. foh will still deal a decent amount of damge per hit (i know from vt vs vt experience).

and when comparing, u have to keep it ceteris paribus

Well vs druid: hdin > mage
vs sin: hdin > mage
vs sorc: hdin > mage
vs barb: mage > hdin, but its and adv duel for both anyway. Same for smiter or v/t. Vs bowies mage might be better, but you wont have much room to use foh + you have less def vs multi.

in tvt: hdin > mage (more def, more hammer dmg)

Id say also mage does worse vs nec than hdin. You dont really have room to foh consistently, and nec takes 3 hammers to kill if you play like hdin.

Hdin kills zons, necs, most sins (can finish with hotosmite if 3) and smiters in 2 hammers. Besides, hitting with hammers intentionally isnt guaranteed, so having higher damage is better for invisibles/stray hammers.

Also, if you surprise someones, always its better to kill in the same good jump, so two hammers is still better.

depends how you build your mage...

how much hammer damage are you looking at when building a mage, its hard to get enough damage on your foh without sacrificing your hammer damage to the extent that you need 1 extra hammer

the biggest issue is the dueling impracticality of it. Yeah, a mage can probably 3-hit his opponent who can 3-hit him and lose 'nothing', but what you gain in terms of FOH is basically 'nothing', too. Because in joder vs joder duels, youll basically never hit each other with an FOH and when you do it won't make a difference in terms of who wins and loses- you'd have to hit them nearly 20 times just to make up the damage a single hammer deals. In the end, you'll just forget about FOH and you'll both be jodering around. I'd probably rather have the mage in this case, but simply not use FOH, since it lets you be a mage in other matchups. But it doesn't really put you at an advantage here.
