i'll disagree with you once more: the efectivity of the EQ, regarding the difference in terms of value, is not THAT visible like it is in zeal vs zeal e.g.
due to the complexity of whirlwind and considering the factor "luck" you can win ~50% of aow duels with "standard geared" barb (eni, botd, angelics etc) vs "high end geared" barb (fools weapon, fancy rare armor etc..) IF you know what you are doing and, again, if you are patient enough.
however, the remaining barbs should be pretty much high_end_geared anyway with all those (obviously) imported items and duped perf jewels, thus my point is invalid anyway. so, here is a potato:

imo diadems are not for ar and life as the sentence, that is the Primal visions,

the most important thing why diadems used is Alot of +Ar and Alot of +Damage (Str) with additional possible +life or +Frw if lucky also +str is bonus for your high str armors requirements (ofc i know you cant have strbug .)
because +2 Barb 20+ Str 10+ Dex +Vision is an combination of Arreat helmet and vision helmet
