You've killed guys with just mind blast? I think maybe you should stay out of the low level dueling games with your high level character

Maxed mind blast does what for damage? less then 200? After the pvp penelty, its like 30 damage. You would have to mind blast someone for like 2 minutes straight to kill them with it.

I think it was a very nice guide, but I do have some quesions.
Does the dr% from fade only apply when you cast fade? Or is it passive and always on?
And do only the base points from fade work for the dr bonus or can skill points add to it?

My ww assasin is now lvl 62 so I need these answered before I make a stupid mistake. Thanks

so u only get dr when u cast fade

yes you only get it when you cast and use it.

But, all points in it count as 1%, so even from + skill items, it all counts.

dude ! I remade my old ww assa, with better equip like bramble and 3/20/20's and she has everything better now I sometimes swap to mass resist for cold/foh, but everything else she kills loads quicker, following your guide completely I've added nearly 3k to overall attack damage Only level 80 atm, but is one hell of a sweet dueler.

Its fun winning such a high % of duels isn't it. I think everybody should have a WW assassin equipped at all times.

I have 3 PVP characters equipped at all times. Currently I have:

WW sin

Kick sin

Trap sin


Even if I stripped my kicker and trapper, I will always keep my WW'er fully equipped and ready for action.

If you go into a public game with that set up, you'll get destroyed because your resists are horrible. If thats your pure melee set up, you will do ok. Any WW assassin is going to do ok, its just a matter of how good do you want to me.

If you want to beat almost anybody anytime, then you will need the best gear. If you want to win a lot of duels, that set up is fine for melee duels.

I suggest putting on a Jade talon, mara's and another raven frost at least, and you could maybe even use lion heart armor for more resists, and boots with again more resists.

Your goals for open public games are primarily:

75% resists in hell
3K+ WW damage
7.5K WW Attack rating
50% DR
2K+ life

if you can do that, you will win a fair chunk of your duels. Of course ideal numbers are far more impressive, but that costs a lot to get the gear involved.

I ran into a WW asn in a dueling game recently, and he was using a a 2x psn faceted giant skull. He told me how it added more damage than a faceted shako, and the knockback really worked well for him. If it werent for the KB, I would have been able to beat him without a problem with my frenzy barb, but the KB screwed me over. Have you tried using a Giant skull before?
