as you've already been told, nova sorcs have ~40 skill points to spend after maxing nova and synergies (including static field)

nova sorcs hold infinity and use insight merc, which means they never run out of mana. this essentially makes them invulnerable

nova sorcs need to be able to tele stomp elite packs without getting slapped to death in a second or two. try doing that with a vita nova build and report back your experiences

mana burn doesn't exist in d2r. even if it still did, it wouldn't change a thing as ES was already the way to build nova sorcs in legacy

mana burn was barely a nuisance. nova isn't viable without ES, common sense should tell you that.

and honestly, it's bewildering to me why someone would give out (awful) advice regarding something he has no grasp over at all

Higher effective hit pool in %95 of cases...At the cost of skill points you don't need.

EHP is important because you aren't going max block and have low defense.

Saying ES doesn't bring survivability for PvM that much just means you don't understand the math.

If your going to go to stupid level I can't argue with that tho so you win.
