Actually looked into it and there's no consensus on what the definition of a skill floor actually is. There's people saying a high skill floor means you automatically stand closer to the top (so the definition I used; you can suck and still do well), there's people saying a high skill floor means high barrier to entry (so the exact opposite).

right..

so my point is the skill floor and ceiling is higher on a wind druid (as opposed to a necro) because it can be used effectively by someone who isn't that skillful

Dunno what the word 'skill' means in skill floor in your example. No skill is user at all.

Call your exemple an effectiveness floor/ceiling. Inherent abilities or builds say nothing about skills
