I couldnt find how fast the gavel barb hits gold cap since the buff to find item. If you have that information that would likely be better for OP. I've been too busy messing around with new druid builds to try goldfinder.

Interesting build - thats also quite expensive compared to the midrange gavel guide.
but we are talking completely different techniques, yours is a kill-yourself build, and gavel is a merc-kills build

So if i average 650k per run, then I need about 16 runs to fill up.
Average run time, about 1 minute per run maybe a tad longer if i pick up 35k stuff to sell

It's not a significant difference in the results, but a different play method entirely.

As long as we all remember i am the one that started to suggest gavel of pain some years ago befiore it got stolen. But i got bullied and harassed for it.

Speaking for hardcore: It may be tedious to recharge the charges at vendor, but:

I always tp and go to take act 4 waypoint after every game, to shorten the run to the waypoint next game. In act 4, the way to the vendor is very short, so it's like 3-4 seconds. And that time you save by using amp on the members, in two ways: The merc kills much faster, and the merc leech more life thus has an easier time staying alive. Also, if you use amp strategically, you can get away by using one charge every run. You don't need to have 100% of the members amp'd at all times. As long as you get 50-60% of them amp'd, that should be enough to give your merc a flying start and slaughter 5-6 of them quickly... the rest will be easy pickings after that. In the meantime, you hork corpses and pick gold and items.

Okay, so as one of the earliest goldfinders in the game, I've tried almost everything in the game.



EBOTD zerker axe - for the dual leech, freeing up rings/amulets
um'd ss
dual 450% 6xlem'd war axes
goldwrap
2x dwarf stars
chance guards
rare boots with res and goldfind or infernostrides
cham'd crown of thieves
wealth
highlord's wrath amulet (speeds up killing by 10-20%)

Merc:
ETH Reaper's toll (for the decrep to remove PI)
wealth or goldskin (depending on res need - or fortitude if you say screw it)
100% gf cham'd eth crown of thieves


You'll end up ww'ing a lot, but if you see conviction or holy freeze, head straight to them and zerk em down. Otherwise, fanatacism can be troublesome but if you ww in a triangle around it while merc decreps, it shouldn't be much of an issue. If you have any questions at all don't hesitate to contact me and I can go into more details and suggest stuff. I average 400-450k runs and it takes all of 2 minutes.
