Yea im gonna run one sorc with low and 1 with high mf. hopefully i find a nightwing so i can take off my shako. someone wanted 2 ists for a deaths fathom yesterday but i didnt have any ists thats a good deal. using occy rn which has too high of mf. hoto would be good once i get a vex. aldurs might be better than treks good idea.
my high mf sorc will use tals armor belt and amulet, occy, shako, travs, and either chancies or magefists depending on what bp im at.

Mf increase likelihood drops roll magic, rare, unique, set. So it inherently reduces the chance of a plain base drop.

That said don't overthink this. It's noticeable over 1000s of runs, not 100s. Killing a lot of monsters is what drops all items. Happy hunting

You never have zero mf. You can find magic, rare and uniques with zero mf. After a certain amount of on gear mf (usually 250mf upwards) you see an increase in magic, rares and uniques in theory. What I am trying to say, wearing a shako doesn't dramatically decrease your chances to find bases. You don't need specialized gear with zero mf. However, if you go out of your way with gheeds, skulli, tal etc you will decrease your chance for bases.
More than caring about mf you should care about doing enough dmg in p3+ games. This way you decrease no drop chance.

this game is based on probabilities. wearing shaco because it's not that bad is counterintuitive towards the goal of finding whites.

Ya ofc it does think about it like this, the more mf u have more likely that those bases that drop will either be magic, rare or unique, the more mf the higher the probability that the base will be a rare or unique or magic

That's not what I meant. Dropping kill speed by dropping shako for example in order to have 0 mf is a worse idea than to gear up for p3+ to decrease no drop chance (you say yourself, based on probabilities). I wouldn't get out of my way to have 0mf but I wouldn't search for them with 100mf+ either.

well, if someone wants kill speed, they won't be wearing shaco anyway. griphon is much better.
