It's a bug. We only know that happens when iron golem has life tap on him, makes him take a LOT more damage and if you make him from a low damage weapon he will not take more damage, or at least, not so much.

No, it's not like iron maiden. Iron maiden gives back your damage multiplied. This bug makes him take enemie's damage multiplied. It's just iron golem.
