Point being with infinity and griffs and no facets, you’re already -70 res. Even high player games that will be sufficient most of the time so another facet is barely going to help.

And if this well-geared, your merc will probably also be a fucking beast so they can take care of the rest.

It’s a good item for most builds and it has a good kit, the laek is rly useful but the Jah is near useless on a sorc due to small life pool and low life per vita, frw is overrated for pvm, mf is nice, ber is alright but meh compared to 13 mdr from viper

But whatever you floats your boat I guess, the thing is you won’t have -70 vs immunities cos conviction only removes 17 lr and all -res from gear is applied at full rate after

So if you have -80 from griffon infi and a mob has 110 lr then he will only be reduced to 13 lr in hell

You actually still deal reduced dmg

Besides I didn’t even mention the extra fcr from viper doesn’t only open up a socket and 1 skill, but it’s actually 2 skills more cos you can also use a 3 light 10 fcr amu

And lastly nova sorc struggles with resist with enigma

Is it worth to run Nova if I don't have access to Infinity? I just want to do basic MF and enjoy the Nova playstyle but not sure if it's viable in 2.4.

To be more specific: Can I spec for Nova if I'm just using basic MF gear like Oculus/Shako/Viper/Spirit Mon

Without infinity, the only sorc build is blizzard.

I don't feel like that's really a fair assessment. Blizz sorc still can't do shit about cold immunes so stuff like solo clearing CS is impossible. It's just as limited as any other single element build right?

There are less cold immunes, and easy L85 areas to do.

Then your reapers toll merc takes care of the immune.


But the main benefit of cold skills is that you benefit greatly from cold mastery which helps scale your damage without infinity.
The combination of how blizzard and cold mastery function together along with monster cold immunity make cold sorc by far the only spec to do if you don’t have infinity.

It’s facts. It’s been this way since 1.10, which was like 2003/2004 iirc.

its true, i started a nova sorc on ladder and and its useless without infinity
had to restat to blizzard last night so i could actually do some hell runs
also nova sorc normally needs both es & tk skills maxed as well as nova, mastery and now static
too many skills to be viable build at lower levels so your forced to go vita or mb for a start
