Skills

Crit to about 70%, 1 pt pierce

To skill you can either be more multi based or strafe based
If you more multi based still take a least 1 pt in strafe. NB for multi 24 arrows is max, don't put port point after that

I like to max GA

Magic Arrow works well for phys Immune, if you pure bow max it
If you go hybr, 1 pt li bolt works quite well for phys. If they phys and Li imm (on hybr) 1pt in magic arrow will still do the job

Valkyrie makes a decent tank that can be recast


merc

For merc you have 3 choices

For a dominant multi arrow
1) Act1 faith with Zon on Windforce bow Shael
2) act2 pride with Zon on Faith bow

For a strafe based
3) Act 2 pride with Zon on Windforce bow Shael

Play around and see what works best for you

Nn Valkyrie for Sc PvM. For Hc I would say yes, especially if rich build. You don't want to die.

This, multi > strafe though

I like strafe more than multi. I feel like it's easier. What makes multi better?

multi hits up to 24 targets at once

you can move inbetween volleys and not stuck in place

you dont get screwed by arrows not hitting due to nextdelay/collision checks work

Strafe roots you in place until volley is done and is only useful in a passage where minions are lined up

In a wide open area it only hits 1 target at a time

If you use Strafe correctly, you deal more damage and gameplay flows better. This is because more arrows Pierce because you should be having 100% Pierce, and more arrows will inflict 5% Chance to cast Amplify Damage from Atma's Scarab. The bullshit about locking you in place is nothing of a drawback if you play correctly. I've never had a problem with it, and i clear Chaos in Hell in 5-6 minutes with the best gear i can afford, in Hardcore.

You run halfway up to a pack of monsters, and in my case, playing Hardcore, i cast Valkyrie or Decoy. Then i run one or two steps back, because of safety measure regarding lag issues. This insures the monsters will not target me, at least not to the extent that they will suddenly land 5 hits on me and kill me. It does require a very tiny bit of kiting and micro managing, but it results in faster runs and better gameplay flow.

Then you start Strafing. 1 or 2 volleys of Strafe will usually kill 5-10 monsters. The remaining monsters you use Guided Arrow on for speed, or you can use Strafe too, but losing that 1-2 seconds instead of just aiming behind the monsters with Guided Arrow and start running, results in minutes over hours and days.

I'm sure Multishot is not far behind, but the drawback with Multishot is that only the two middle arrows carry special modifiers such as 5% Chance to cast Amplify Damage. This is a huge drawback that you lose out a lot of potential on. In my opinion also, it is a very spread-out way to play. You do not have too much control over which monsters you hit. It is also a very monotonous way to play, just stand there and flick out arrows. With a little bit of finesse and micro management, with Strafe, you can get faster results and better flow.

Don't listen to the manipulating naysayers that spread shit about me and cock up each other. Strafe IS the better skill, -IF- you play correctly as i now have described in perfect detail.
