the flaw in this character is the cold armor type

1 - melee and missile,
Shiver armor
Chilling armor

when shiver is on you use missile
when chilling is on you use melee

when i go into pubs , i always tend to carry a eth lac on my bvc or zealer

helps alot with town druids and other such characters like your build

That's not really a flaw. This sorc can switch between shiver/chilling armor during a duel faster than the barb can react to it. Of course, this does mean it won't be prebuffed, but its nearly as powerful without it. Sometimes when fighting zons you have to do the same thing. I have yet to come against a barb that had a lacerator that could actually do anything to my sorc though. I've even killed straight up throwing barbs with my chilling armor. Very few have them to begin with. This build isn't "exactly" what existed for awhile now. It's a custom build that is quite different from what you are talking about. The energy shield approach is garbage.

Also, this is where orb comes in.

Energy shield is completely useless. I Tried a variation of this build with energy shield rather than vita/dr/mb etc. You can't get the cold damage high enough while also having high enough mana and defense. It just doesn't happen. And then you have no way to actually lure/attack people. That's just dumb.


Also I'm too lazy to actually post up a youtube vid. Also I probably dont have the right tools for it. Someone else should make this character and do it. Such a video would have a lot of potential.



This is an inferior build with no way to lure into attacking. Easily subjugated by chargers as well because it doesn't have block. Trust me, my build is #1.

And its viable in 1.13. That's important.

Also if you note in that vid...she almost dies after each assualt by those melee characters. Mine is capable of taking ZERO DAMAGE while killing the other player. It's overall a trashy build...and I know other's have come up with it...but it's nothing in comparison to mine.

aye i was just posting that build as an example of seeing shiver dmg chars...

the low life will always happen, it utilizes MDR, so it will often tank at nearly zero hp levels.
even so, as you say it is a very passive build, no offensive ability meaning many builds can kill it.
i like the fact that you still have a strong orb ability, and a fun gear setup for a bearsorc!

id be curious how low end of gear a person can get and still make this viable.
seems an expensive setup.

I used to run it on 30 lifer cold gcs...20 life plains scs...a much lower nightwings...and a lower fathom even and an eth up'd vipermagi. Perfect gear isn't necessary...but it makes you even more likely to win against even the strongest opponents that also spent a fortune on their character. The first time I ever tested this character even with much shittier gear...i was amazed.



If you have a physical character on USWEST-NL softcore I'd be happy to demonstrate as it says in my guide

I can kill several people...and own whole games of physical characters. I've gotten several triple kills without healing.
