+min (in helm or whatever)
+max (in helm or whatever)
+%ed in weapon

will not add to your smite damage.

+%ed in helm/shield/body will do.

Technically, it is.

''Adds X-Y damage'' is exactly the same as ''+X to Minimum Damage'' and ''+Y to Maximum Damage'' combined. Neither of those are applied to Smite.

This is why War Traveler are basically pointless on a smiter.
You get a pitiful damage bonus from +10 to Strength (equivalent to +10% ED which is off-weapon).

So a 2-6 damage jewel can never produce a +3 or +4 to damage??

''Adds 2-6 damage" means "+2 to Minimum Damage" and "+6 to Maximum Damage".

How this affects your final damage output depends on a lot of other variables (weapon, charms, off-weapon +% ED, skills, aurae, crit etc., the list is quite extensive).
But it doesn't apply to Smite anyway, so it's irrelevant here.

There is a damage calculator @ inDiablo. Google it.

Sounds solid.

Thanks for the clarification
