I thought fire blast was fixed :S
Anyway my wof trapper has 1800 dmg and about 3400 on WoI, so what I meant was, when all 5 traps hit at the same time that would be around 12k-13k, I know that isn't all correct cuz of the frames they fire at..But I just used it to point out WoF isn't all that pathetic as people believe..
And I always learned WoF stuns better than LS.. when I start my stun sequence I always start with WoF and then mb.. then start adding LS...
Cuz in most guides you can read: 5LS equal the same amount of stun as 2 WoF
So by that logic, if LS can do 15k damage, would you consider a damage oriented light trapper to do 75k damage per hit?
It's really illogical to think that your opponent is going to stand and let themselves get to a hardlock where all 5 traps hit at once, by that point the duel is won. I know wof has a tighter damage range than ls, but its still bad logic imo to lump 5x traps into a single damage number, especially with mdr or sorb coming into play or something.
starting the stun sequence with wof is actually worse for stunlocking than starting the stun sequence with ls. back when I attempted fire trapper I would frequently find myself starting the stun or provoking the opponent with LS before dropping down some wof once the stun has started. The main problem with using wof first is wof has a longer (horrible) startup delay from the time it "sees" the opponent to the time it actually shoots. While this may mean a tighter link between wof/ls/fb stun if the opponent is foolish enough to stand with a wof under their feet for the long startup time, it also means that the opponent can just go "oh, there is a wof dropped under my feet, let me wsg out of mb stun and walk out before wof even hits once" This is why wof sucks for stunlocking once you get to opponents that are used to dueling trappers.
wof is nice to mix in with ls and once wof starts hitting it is very nice stun at a rapid interval, but that initial delay makes it suck vs people who know to get away asap.
Also the part about 5LS equal to same amount of stun as 2 WoF.. that is just bullshit. You can space LS slightly apart to have intervals between the shots actually hitting so that, you can time your trap laying and mindblast in between the intervals when LS is not hitting to get stun in those openings to hinder your opponent from escaping. "amount of stun" is really vague because the stun comes from a combination of traps, trap placement, mindblasting, shadow mindblasting, fb (if you do so), and a number of other factors which depend on what the opponent is doing (walking, direction of walking relative to traps, casting, wsging, etc) or if there are puddles (great anti-wof tactic) or something that the opponent can abuse.
I'm not saying wof is flat out bad, it has many uses, its great to mix in with LS when you see fit, every single one of my pvp assassins has 1 wof/LS regardless of it is a wof trapper, ls trapper, ghost, kicksin, etc. But the skill certainly has it's limitations which become painfully more apparent once you duel people who don't stand still while traps are being placed under them. To the point that a trapper that tries to focus on wof for a primary source of damage is well.. low tier for a pvp character because of these limitations.
