How would you go about explaining this to the general public if not by means of an example ?
I never meant to say that an example is not good, just that it is not necessary in this case. The math is simple multiplication. If anything, you would need to prove that your math works in practice. And that cannot be done with just math, you need actual shots of actual characters, otherwise it's just math.

If that is a waste of someone's time, then whoever that 'someone' is probably would not find it worthy of his time to read the guide in the first place.
Remove section [2] and people would be left wondering, "How do you know if all this works in practice ?"
Ah, I'm not proposing removal. I'm proposing either additional content or different content. For example, replace the theoretical numbers with screenshots of an actual character before inserting runes or gems and after inserting them. That would be the simplest way to prove that it actually works. After all, if your math has the same solution that reality and your math does not contain mistakes, that means it works. Just proving that there are no holes in the math does not prove that the theory itself is right.

I am trying to reach those who want to understand things and actually try to understand things.
Um, is it just me or does it seem strange that someone who WANTS to understand something CANNOT grasp high school level mathematical thinking along with 3rd grade math?

If the formulae are not sophisticated enough, then ask Blizzard to complicate them.
Ah, I'm not demanding that they add any complications, that would be boring. That way, it could take more time to backtrack the mathematical formulas from practice unless you would check the tens of thousands of lines of hard coded code in the game. Which really isn't practical.

section 1 says what is boostable and non boostable life which I believe a lot of people on jsp dont know about.
section 2 proves section 1
No, you're wrong. Section 1 gives you definitions and a hypothesis. Section 2 proves that the math has no flaws. There is no section that proves that the math works outside itself.

Can you elaborate on this? Or do you mean what I think you mean? I prefer to avoid any misunderstandings when I intend to insult someone.
Ah, it would be simple. Convert it so that the boostable life only consists of level-dependant life and add all of the boostable life gained from charms or quests afterwards. Makes it so that you can compare the results of socketing a Sur to gaining a level or two. Which, I think, is much more useful than giving the stupid public a formula they cannot understand.

@olba... It Is a useful guide.. just because you know it already it doesn't mean everyone else do
No, I never said I knew it before. However, I knew that the solution exists. The solution has to exist because one adds life in integers, the other in percents. There has to be a solution, it's intuitive. Whether the solution is pretty or necessary, that's another issue.
If anything, "gaming math" is interesting. Especially if you can find good applications.
