You are really funny

The sorc is a good idea, only problem with that is they almost never hit a high defense melee char. I've dueled a lot of sorcs using that and if they land a hit ill die with my full vs melee setup but I almost always kill them before they hit me, even when they prebuff and have 18k ar which i'm assuming is good for a sorc.

melee isnt determined by the type of damage you use...ww isnt melee because you must move to to attack and smite is not melee because it does not use ar, this argument will go on forever if it is started so lets not start it, last time this happened we had 89 pages of arguments as to whether smite or ww is melee. In the end *most* people agreed that in diablo 2 melee meant "stationary non ranged attack that requires attack rating and does not do damage over time."

To answer the original question, honestly I think fury druids would be the best melee build, if built right with the right gear they have the potential to kill all other melee builds, including smiters, although smite is not melee. They are also capable of killing almost every other build except necros, but maybe that is just a personal weakness of mine =/

Don't worry, it's not a personal weakness, a skilled necro will destroy a shape druid.

that makes me feel better lol...i kinda figured i shouldnt be killing them, i cant stack/sorb them, i cant teleport on them and those bastards always recast bone armor which completely fucks over any melee char lol

Are you east non ladder? Ill duel your fury druid with my zealot.

And let's not forget their ultimate weapon, Decrepify
