Yeah looks like a nova sorc/aura sorc with a little gimmick. I feel like the ctc nova is just for swag and probably useless. I do like the idea but it has no practical use imo.

Haha i mean, you're right. Its a thunderstorm aura sorc, which isnt exactly new but the ctc nova stuff has only been made possible since that recent d2r patch that fixed NHD.

I dont cast nova at all, the point is to be a passive sorc, and you're downplaying the ctc nova a bit, you can beat the game as a pacifist build and ctc lvl 5 nova is one of the best ways to do it.

Sometimes the ctc nova is the biggest source of damage actually, for example if you're in a high density tz like flayer jungle. You could cast up to 8 or 10 novas in under a second, so up to 10k dmg, where as dream pulses are only 3.7k every 1 second, so over twice as much dmg in that period of time. Any damage helps in a passive build.

You should watch this video which explains "double nova" better than i can, it's not just a gimmick... but also a bit gimmicky, as are most things "off-meta". Hard to find new builds and ways to play in a 25 year old game!

Ive built a ctc nova once just to troll pvp
I also thought about building a low lvl ctc frost nova build since with safety craft you can roll the ctc twice on one item making it proc like crazy but frost nova deals crap dmg and i couldnt care spending my time crafting all the required items.

Yeah I tried to theory craft the frost nova version too but the damage is appalling.
