Alright!
What what mean the 65% is worth ~1kill vs 70% is worth 1.08 kill?
Ah yeah I forgot to explain that one!
It’s to put things in perspective.
What is the real effective value of getting +1% extra find item?
It’s not +1%.
It would be 1:1 if you had 100% drop chance on kills.
But you have 65.45% drop chance on kills.
100/65.45=1.528
That’s why I said, for example, if you have 65% find item, then its
65*1.528=99.32% as many drops that you get from horking versus actual kills.
For example, if you go from 69 to 70%
69*1.528=105.432%
70*1.528=106.96%
What I’m trying to give you here is not an answer to your question.
It’s THE answer to see clearly through everything.
First, you need a point of reference, used to compare any other change you could make in your build.
Increasing your current total golf find % by 1%… is 1% effective.
If you go from 1600% gf to 1600*1.01=1616%, without impacting any other aspect of your build, then you improved your current gold per minute by 1%.
This is the base to determine what is the best way to improve your build next.
Getting +1% find item?
As we said, it’s 1.528% effective.
At 1600% gf it would mean 1600*1.01528=1624.45
So if you are looking, for example, at gear options that would result in either +1% find item, versus +% gf that is less than 1.528% of your total current gf, then that 1% FI is better (and also comes with other drops than gold anyway).
Or, if you determined that your average cast per game is 25, then reaching the next fcr bp means saving 1s per game (25*1 frame).
If you have currently 45s average runs, then you’d drop that average to 44s.
That 1s is the equivalent of 2.2% (1/45) increase gold per minute.
Or, if you determined that your average time spent running is let’s say 16s of your time, then you can check the effects of increasing your effective frw with the formula I gave you previously, and compare the value of the time saved versus the equivalence in gold per minute.
I’m not gonna work all those numbers for you… but if you are willing to min/max a trav barb to its full extent, this is how you do it.
Most people will just base their decisions about gear choice on their feeling. A lot of people will swap X gear for Y gear and feel good about it, while in reality it’s near impossible to have the real verdict based on your feelings as a human being. Your brain is gonna look at your improvement on a particular field, feel good about it, and ignore the rest of the full equation.
Achieving the perfect build is hard. You can probably reach 99% min/maxing based on your feelings/intuition. That last 1% to reach full efficiency is what’s hard to obtain.
