All auras are "pulsating" (yes even those that don't do dmg) each 50 frames (2 seconds).
The pulse timing is the same for all auras.
See it as a constant in-game ticking clock that ticks each 2s, at the same time for all players.
Let's say you activate an aura, either by triggering it on yourself, or by pressing w to an item with an aura...
if your timing is good, it could be activated at the precise moment the game checks for all current active auras, and the effect will be immediate.
Or maybe the game just made its check, then you activate your aura on the very next frame, then there's still 49 frames left before your aura actually affects anyone else.
So no, you can't just quickly "flicker" it to trigger its effect and quickly come back to your previous aura, in hopes of having the effect of both at the same time.
If you precisely swapped to holy shock for exemple, at the moment the game checked the active auras, to trigger the pulse dmg, yes it will work, but for the next 2 second the previous aura you were using will be deactivated until the next game check.

Thanks, I replied to another earlier before I read this post, it was enlightening. and answered it. Thanks.
