Stun isn't a curse status

It doesn't over ride curses

So this is like "Knockback", it has a % chance to Knock Back a monster (not a Curse)

So the Merc "Stun" effect has the same % chance to stun (not a curse, or work like the Barb Skill ... Warcry? ... think that is the skill)

Since the Merc is a Barb, having Stun ability, where did the Merc Barb gain it from: A barb skill or an Innate ability because of there Base Strength?

Not arguing, just asking how this mechanic works with D2:R and their changes with mechanics of the game.

It's an attack just like the barb skill

And the stun effect is the same as from warcry, shockwave, or the "stun" attack skill

Okay... then you missed my point.

What character class has a "KNOCK BACK SKILL?"
... NOTE: Knock Back comes from an ITEM ABILITY, NOT a Skil other than BASHl.

Your explanation just told everyone that the A5 MERC is using a SKILL, which in reality, can NEGATE the CURSE effect OF A SKILL ... I.E. Decrepify.

Can you explain it better than that? Where are the mechanics saying that the A5 Merc STUN does NOT effect OTHER SKILLS???

It would negate that effect if stun was a curse, like blind.

I'm saying it's using the skill stun, and stun doesn't negate curses.

So you link Curses, without knowing that "Knockback" & "stun" are not included with other skills of a character.

Bash + Knock back is NOT A CURSE.

Okay... simple terms ... Open Wounds? Can you get this from an Item? Yes or No? Is it a Curse? Yes or No?

Chilling Effect Duration from dealing Cold Damage... Is it a Curse or from an Item or Items that are accumulated???

Do more research.

Only curses or shrines over-ride curses or shrines.

What does knock back, chill, or open wounds have to do with that?

To directly answer your questions, no none of those are curses. Only shrines and curses are related to each other and exclusive of each other. All the curses are in the amazon basin link I shared.

Okay, I am thinking "simple minded" thoughts about "curses" ... "Necromancer" Skills, or Barbarian = "Stun" (curse???) from Warcry Skill (how does a BARBARIAN curse?) ... Now, Knock Back also applies with the Barbarian skill "Leap" ... it is not a curse, this also applies with a Barbarian using the "Bash" skill to "Knock back" ... it is NOT a curse ... so why does Warcry negate "Decrepify" Curse from the Necro Skill table???

I HATE "theamazonbasin" and their so called information PERSONALLY... however, I do NOT ignore what they have learnt about the game mechanics... but, they are just as old school as Arreat Summit (well maybe a little bit more informed because of the players using CD game mechanic information that was decoded when they were creating bots to play D2 back in the day and Maphacks galore... speculation, however, this is the same reason D2jsp was created in the day).

Amazonbasin has some of the most detailed and comprehensive documenting of d2 mechanics. You hate it but it has all the answers to your questions?
