6x shadows were used in LOD for ghost for a short time when ghosts primarily used shadow dancers before people listened to me and opted for gore riders and swapped to 9x shadow disc before cube buffing became widely GM. Then 8x shadow + cube buff became optimal.
Ghost and hybrid have limited ED% and AR% modifiers compared to something like bvc who has 20 points into WW + fanaticism from beast + max weapon mastery. Making ghost and hybrid needing to scale skills to get more ed% and AR% so that you have enoguh multipliers to scale your damage and AR.
Bvc has high ed% and AR% and gets little value from + skills compared to ghost and hybrid, thus using 3/20/20 gives you more overall value. Not to mention ghost gets a lot of defensive capabilities from the + shadow skills where bvc only gets rather useless defense % and a small amount of all res comparatively.
The equations for scaling damage and AR are very different for sin then they are bvc
A dumbed down version of understanding the equations is this:
When you have high ED% and high AR %, you prioritize damage and integer AR
When you have low ED% and AR%, you prioritize more ED% and AR% over damage and integer AR
This remains largely true across classes. There are some nuances, but this provides you overall direction.
